This is the dream right here. Snowboarding legend Mike Basich has built a pentagon-shaped off-the-grid dwelling on Donner Summit, California, made mostly from materials found on the land. In the winter, the solar-powered stone hut is accessed by skinning in or by snowmachine. In this video, the first of three episodes, Basich starts to build a rope tow from scratch to round out his private mountain paradise. There's even a wood-fired hot tub. Rad. Rad. Rad.
