From The Washington Post:

What’s in a name? Plenty, say the people at the Vermont Ski Museum.

The Stowe fixture is changing its name to the Vermont Ski and Snowboard Museum to acknowledge the deep roots of snowboarding in the state.

Tom Sequist, chair of the museum’s board, says the organization has long recognized the need to formally acknowledge snowboarding’s heritage and is happy to include it in the name.

Founded by Roy Newton of Brandon, the museum opened in Stowe in 2002 to celebrate the history of alpine and Nordic skiing and snowboarding in Vermont.

Sequist says it’s always included snowboards in its exhibitions and plans to expand that. The museum is also changing its logo to include snowboards.
