POC Welcomes Jeremy Jones to Snowboard Team
POC is proud to announce the signing of legendary big mountain snowboarder, Jeremy Jones, to its global athlete team.
Jones anchors a POC snowboard team which already includes the 2011 Freeride World Tour gold medalist Mitch Tölderer, silver medalist Flo Orley and 2010 Scandinavian Big Mountain Champion Niklas Hollsten.
“POC has shown its commitment and success in developing the highest performance snow sports products on the market and I am both excited and proud to be part of the global snowboard team POC is creating,” comments Jones.
“Jeremy Jones is synonymous with big mountain and backcountry snowboarding”, says POC Founder and CEO Stefan Yetterborn. “Anytime you mention his name to other pros or influencers in the action sports industry anywhere in the world, you get the same response and respect. That’s the type of athlete you want anchoring your team and product.”
Jeremy’s influence on the sport is hardly limited to riding the most technical lines around the globe. Jones is founder and CEO of the non-profit Protect Our Winters, uniting the winter sports community in a fight to slow global warming. In 2010, he launched Jones Snowboards to further progress the growing backcountry and splitboard scene that he has revolutionized.
Jones, the nine-time Snowboarder Magazine “Big Mountain Rider of the Year,” is currently filming around the world for Further, the two-year film follow-up to his critically acclaimed 2010 snowboard movie, Deeper.
