Adam “MCA” Yauch, a founding member of the New York City-based hip hop trio the Beastie Boys, died Friday after a three-year battle with cancer. He was 47 years old. In 2009, Yauch was diagnosed with cancer in his salivary gland. The Beastie Boys were widely liked among action sports enthusiasts.
