Global Warming Closes San Diego Ski Area

Well, maybe it was global warming but chances are it was just a stupid idea to begin with.

Apparently, in 1966 the ski area opened with much anticipation but only lasted one season and was only open for 10 days.

But imagine the possibility of longboarding (back then is was just called "surfing') Swami's in the morning and driving a few miles for a quick shush with your favorite beach/ski bunny while enjoying a classic San Diego Sunset!

There's slightly more info on it here, but other than that this piece of history seems to have vanished.

Below is probably the most eerie use of ellipsis I've seen... and the claim "where the snow is" probably jinxed the whole endeavor.
