MOUNTAIN CREEK, NJ – Downhill mountain biking kicks off today for riders near the bustling metropolis of Manhattan as Mountain Creek Bike Park fires up the lift for 2015 summer operations. With 40 miles of trail etched into just over 1,000 feet of vert, this Beast of the East offers a progressive riding experience with something for everyone, but is classically known as big bike territory.

Mountain Creek Bike Park is a two-time Best Bike Park winner in the Riders' Choice Best Bike Parks Awards for the Mid Atlantic/Southeast Region.

Mountain Creek Bike Park boasts more trails than any other park in the region. The park offers a mix of downhill, freeride and cross-country trails, making it a perfect destination for anyone who loves mountain biking. In recent years, the park has undergone an ambitious expansion and trail building program, employing the talents of freeride legend Jeff Lenosky who introduced several higher-end, Lenosky signature features.

Anyone who loves mountain biking will be able to find enjoyment in the mix of downhill, freeride and cross-country trails that are offered at Mountain Creek Bike Park. With the continued growth of new trails and features of all skill levels, anyone from a beginner to a World Cup pro can enjoy themselves at their own level.

Mountain Creek offers one of the longest lift-served riding seasons in North America with one of the most efficient mountain bike lifts (The Cabriolet Gondola) in the world. The park's vision is to provide a world-class trail network of purposefully designed and immaculately maintained natural terrain and man-made features.

Mountain Creek recently added three new trails: Candyland, DMHL and 99. The crew also re-imagined its signature freeride trail, Alpine, and expanded the park's cross-country trail network, adding several new loop extensions. Salvation received an all-new bridge that functions as an over-under to improve the flow of on-mountain traffic for nonstop fun! Lower Deviant was re-constructed with new berms and more beginner to intermediate table tops.

For this year the bike park continues making improvements to its existing trail network. Finishing the all-new top to bottom Greenhorn beginner trail which is schedules to be open later this summer, creating the longest and easiest route down the mountain. Mountain Creek Bike Park is also building a new jump line for the expert riders.


Also new this year are some fresh faces among the park's Trail Crue. Be sure to say hi to Baby Paul Spada, Papa Paul Braunstein and Jay Messineo, along with seasoned members Marc, George and Jeb when you hit the trails this summer.
