FIRST CHAIR ALERT: Blue Mountain Bike Park, PA, Opens for 2015

PALMERTON, PA – The summer mountain bike season kicks off this Saturday, May 9, at Blue Mountain Bike Park in Palmerton, PA. Blue Mountain Bike Park is located less than 90 minutes from Philadelphia and Manhattan and features 21 trails with more coming soon, and more than 1,000 feet of vert.

At Blue Mountain, the downhill trails are cut very naturally without using a lot man-made features. You can expect decent rock gardens along the way down the difficult courses. Riders heading to the park will enjoy the mix of loose rocks and natural terrain, which offer up a myriad of challenges.

Blue Mountain Bike Park is a Top Five winner in the 2014 Riders' Choice Best Bike Parks Awards for the Mid-Atlantic/Southeast.

Intermediate and Advanced riders can enjoy some expert downhill runs (Jambalaya, Formula, OCS, Moto, and Miles of Smiles) which are steep, twisty and very rocky as well as more moderate courses such as Wild Turkey and King Tut. Riders can also have fun hitting the jump line of Ewok Village to catch plenty of air! For beginner riders, there's a new a progression drop zone to hone in on skills, as well as novice and intermediate trails that are challenging, yet fun.

When you are finished riding for the day, head on over to the Slopeside Pub & Grill for music and good food!

The resort offers a full-service bike shop. Instruction, rentals and racing make Blue Mountain a one-stop destination for all things mountain biking, all season long!

NEW FOR 2015

Check out Empire, Blue Mountain's newest expert freeride trail with high speed berms, tabletops and freeride features. This trail is unlike anything you've seen before at Blue and is a must ride trail for anyone in the mid-Atlantic.
