GoPro's Line of the Winter program lets unsponsored and sponsored riders alike submit clips of a single run. The judging criteria focuses equally on four subjects:
#1: Cinematography & Composition
#2: Perspective & Degree of Shooting Difficulty
#3: Performance & Style
#4: Overall Beauty & Lighting
The winner of this monthly competition gets $1000. At the end of the season, judges will decide who wins the best clip of the season and gets a grand prize of $20,000.
Winners have varied from Rob Kingwill's steep and deep line through the Jackson Hole backcountry to this much mellower line through Vail's Blue Sky Basin sidecountry. On an arctic-cold day, Bradley Roslyn drops into thigh-deep, low-angle trees where faceshots abound.
